At RiceTec, our commitment to sustainable rice production is embodied in two powerful products: RiceTec seed and RiceReach. These solutions naturally reinforce each other, creating a synergistic approach to sustainable rice farming that benefits growers, consumers, and the environment.
Our seed is rigorously tested before it is sold and is only available treated with zinc as well as broad-spectrum multiple fungicide seed treatments and gibberellic acid to enhance germination and early growth. We also offer insecticide as a seed treatment option.
RiceTec is the only seed company with a staff of specialists on call during the growing season to answer any questions and make management recommendations regarding how to maximize crop performance. This reflects our commitment to partner with our customers to help them maximize their yields and income. Additionally, RiceTec works with downstream markets to ensure customers that all of our products are acceptable for use.

The Benefit of Hybrid Rice
Hybrid vigor provides numerous benefits to the producer: a more robust plant with greater production stability, high production potential, greater tolerance to diseases and environmental stress.
High productivity potential: Hybrid rice seeds have great productive potential, with yields of up to 14,000 kg/ha being achieved in several crops. On average, the rice hybrid produces a 25% difference above the controls in the comparison regions.
High tillering capacity: Due to the high tillering capacity, hybrid rice seed allows the reduction of sowing density from 100-120 kg/ha used with varieties, to 40-45 kg/ha with hybrid seeds, bringing greater savings in the use of seed treatment, lower transport costs and optimization of sowing with greater operational gain.
Good root formation: Due to the large volume of roots, hybrid rice seeds provide greater exploitation of nutrients in the soil, better plant fixation, and greater tolerance to iron toxicity.
Greater tolerance to iron toxicity.
Greater health: Hybrid rice seed has good tolerance to diseases such as blast, brown spot and narrow spot.

SmartRice® Hybrid Seeds

RiceTec SmartRice hybrids deliver exceptional genetic advantages for farmers, consumers, and the planet. SmartRice hybrids are resource-efficient seeds that offer higher yields and are genetically suited for direct seeded rice (DSR). They also provide enhanced stress and disease tolerance, resistance to lodging, and improved milling percentages, pushing the boundaries of sustainable rice cultivation.

- Resource efficiency: SmartRice hybrids require less land, irrigation water and labor compared to varieties.

Hybrid Rice Seeds
The main and most important characteristic of hybrid rice seed is increased heterosis or hybrid vigor portrayed in higher productivity, grain weight, number of panicles per unit area, number of grains per panicle, high tillering capacity, disease resistance and insects, among others.
The hybrid rice seed is the result of crossing two distinct parental lines, aiming to gain hybrid vigor.
The hybrid rice seed production process consists of sowing interspersed strips of male and female lines, with the hybrid seed being the result of crossing between the lines. Females are male-sterile, that is, they do not self-fertilize. Pollen from the anthers of the male lineage migrates to the stigma of the female lineage, resulting in cross-pollination. The male-sterile female receives the pollen from the male, and will produce the hybrid seed.
The advantage of this process is that it allows the combination of characteristics and benefits found in both rice strains in a single seed. From the development of rice lines through RiceTec’s Genetic Line Improvement until the hybrid seed becomes commercially available, it takes around 8 to 10 years. It is important to highlight that the hybridization method used by RiceTec does not consist of transgenics, as the characteristics we combine are found in the rice crop itself.

FullPage® Rice Cropping Solution
The FullPage Rice Cropping Solution represents a new generation of climate-friendly solutions for rice seed, improving yields, controlling weeds, and providing early-season disease and insect protection. This solution is comprised of SmartRice genetics, Squad seed treatment, unique IMI climate friendly trait, and ADAMA’s herbicides.
The technology improved the crop’s response during herbicide applications under stressful growth conditions, improving the expression of its genetic potential. This characteristic gives the producer the benefit of greater flexibility in the application of herbicides as well as the beginning of crop irrigation.
RiceTec’s first products in South America with this technology are XP113FP, XP739FP and InovFP.

Max-Ace® Rice Cropping Solution
The Max-Ace rice cropping solution is a new generation of climate-friendly rice seed solution. It improves yield and gives rice growers an excellent tool for weed control. This solution is comprised of SmartRice genetics, Squad seed treatment, unique ACCase climate friendly trait, and ADAMA’s herbicides.
Max-Ace has genetics tolerant to ACCase inhibitor herbicide, obtained through mutations, acting to control the main grasses in rice farming, such as red rice and rice grass, including genotypes resistant to other groups, plants considered to be an obstacle to crop yield and which can lead to a reduction in the quality of the final product
With the new technology, the producer also has another possibility of rotating herbicides more effectively, achieve high production potential, and enjoy greater tolerance to diseases such as rice blast. The cultivars XP302 Max-Ace and XP739 Max-Ace offer excellent results, especially in the control of red rice and ALS-resistant rice grass.
